Had a few pints here to wash down the curry, great choice of beers and very friendly staff. Visited the refurbished bar on of March and was welcomed by the new owner. Why the placemark for this pub is in Alicante city, I don't know, anyways it's a lovely pub, I have been coming to Cabo Roig for many years, and this place has been a hub for a lot of the Irish community that live and visit here, I really like it, the staff are friendly and engaging.
Just the other night I asked if they did food, they said no, but it was ok to go to the chip shop next door and eat them with your pint in the bog road, can't go wrong there! The place always has a few bods in it wheneber I am there, and usually a familiar friendly face from home or from your holiday, highly recommended, well worth a visit, for possibly the truest Irish pub in the area, if not, definitely the best!
It's ideally located, and always very busy, this Irish bar was exactly what you would expect to find from an Irish bar, when abroad. Drink prices were excellent, and the staff were extremely friendly. One in particular Caoimhe stands out, cos she wore a New England patriots jersey, and we got talking about the NFL - something i rarely if ever get to do, when i'm in Europe on holidays. The only issue i would have with The Bog Road, was that there was no warning that the bar would close. Essentially - without warning - the lights go off, and the bar staff walk out.
On two occasions, i had planned on getting another drink, and had to miss out. Mostly though, this is a very busy, very friendly pub - one that should be on your visit list, if you are in the area. A real Irish holiday bar with good music and friendly staff always ready to welcome its clients new and regular.
Staff are always friendly and willing to chat when not jammed. Never a bad pint of Guinness. Have to disagree with the previous review. Grubby pub, I know it's an Irish Bar but there is dirty and grubby and that is what this was. Be wary on what you order, cider was not right and ordered a Jamiesons out of a bottle but it certainly was not Jamiesons or was watered down' most of the pubs on the strip were the same however but this was worst.
