I went to the hotel to ask for a room. The counter where you put your hands- elbows was filthy. Also the receptionists did not speak english and this is the Worst Western sorry Best Western. The receptionist was not dressed in a presentable manner. The rooms are very cheap looking and because they want to save electric costs the hotel is dark inside. Also the cheap low class casino they have outside made me feel I was walking into a dump.
I left for the other Best Western Las Espuelas. Las Espuelas was dignified looking, good receptionist, plenty of light and you get your money's worth. If you stay here it is because you are desperate and nowhere else has a vacancy. I read the reviews and didnt expect the palce to be grand though the rooms are outdated by 40 years and so are the beds and the security appears to be a possible issue.
I dont expect all hotels to be like a standard marriott or Hilton room especially when a lower rate is being charged, thogh this is an absolute joke, even by some of the lower costs Costa rica standards.
They logged the issue in a big fat book that appeared to be other similar refusals to pay. Take a word of advice, book anywhere else and take that one hour cab drive to the airport, it will be worth the 75 cab ride over this excuse for a Best Western. My bed had hair in the sheets and the sheet are so thin you can see the bedspread pattern through them.
Talk about bedspread it looked like it has been on the bed since the 70's. I also had hair in the shower. We had 2 towels for 3 people. Breakfast was include but i wasn't told that till I tired to pay them for it at the front desk and the girl told me it was included.
